Breathe Right Sleep Tight is the Sunshine Coast’s only paediatric respiratory and sleep clinic. Based in Cotton Tree, the clinic is headed up by Dr Tonia Douglas, a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Physician with extensive expertise in the management of children’s asthma and early childhood wheezing, cough, chest infections and airway conditions, obstructive sleep apnoea, excessive sleepiness (including narcolepsy) and circadian disorders.
Dr Douglas is a staff specialist, and co-Director for paediatric cystic fibrosis services, at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, Brisbane.
Dr Douglas graduated from the University of Manchester, England, in 1994 and completed her specialist paediatric training in Perth, Western Australia in 2005. Dr Douglas completed her medical doctorate (MD) in paediatric asthma in 2009, and worked as a respiratory and sleep physician and as director for cystic fibrosis at the Perth Children’s hospital until 2013, when she relocated to Queensland.
Dr Douglas has access to the specialist paediatric respiratory, sleep and laboratory services at Queensland Children’s hospital (QCH) and has experience in the management of complex respiratory disorders associated with chronic childhood disease.
Dr Douglas is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Queensland and is actively involved in clinical research and teaching. She is published in peer review journals and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences. She is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and the European Thoracic Society, and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
